GREAT MIX OF CATCHES FROM GTS TO COLOURFUL GROUPERS

COSMOLEDO ATOLL FLY FISHING REPORT
 23 – 30 DECEMBER 2021

Bonefish held up by an angler
Angler holding a giant trevally

The fly fishing week at Cosmoledo Atoll was met with neap tides and a mixed group of anglers and divers. None of the anglers had visited Cosmoledo Atoll before, and there was a lot of excitement in the air. We had a total of 9 guests, two divers and seven anglers. David keens and Partner Margaret completed 15 dives in total, and David still squeezed in 3 days of fishing. David racked up a few giant trevallies and managed a 48cm yellow margin trigger.

Eduardo Lvov landed a few personnel bests ranging from huge grouper, a 65+ cm bluefin, and an 82 cm giant trevally. Eduardo’s fishing partner Valerii Naumochkin landed the biggest giant trevally of the week (84cm) among the four that he managed to land.

The rest of the week, the Kurschat Family made up fish numbers. Marcus Snr was leading the way with seven giant trevallies and a fantastic moustache trigger. The boys caught many different types of fish species and eventually landed a few giant trevallies each.

Janis was certainly not missing out on the action and landed her first giant trevally, some colourful grouper species, and a good-sized bonefish.

The week was slow to start with but heated up as it progressed. Many fish were seen and landed, with everyone finishing the trip with huge smiles.

Tight lines,
